Healthy pizza recipe

Nobody in this world can just hate pizza. I mean it is loved by everyone no matter what their taste preferences are. So, presnting you a healthy pizza recipe. Umm, i know its quite contradictory to hear word “healthy” and “pizza” together but it is true. I have made a pizza which is just completely healthy. Not merely the base of pizza is healthy but the sauces too are home made and healthy. This is ideal healthy kid friendly pizza recipe. I will also be sharing a complete recipe includng recipe for healthy pizza base and the recipe of pizza dough.

Whenever you eat a pizza of your favorite brand, it just fulfill your taste factor and NOT AT ALL health factors. Who cares, which brand cares about your health? That is why, in this lock down, you must try at least once this recipe of pizza which concerns towards taste as well as health.

Pizza dough

Prep Time 1 hour 15 minutes

  • Whole wheat flour
  • butter
  • rock salt
  • powdered brown sugar
  • yeast

Recipe of healthy pizza

Preparation of dough for pizza recipe

  • In a bowl, take whole wheat flour, add yeast, rock salt and powdered brown sugar.
  • Mix everything well. Now add warm water gradually to make a sticky dough.
  • Once sticky, knead the dough for 5 minutes by stretching and pulling the dough. You can still add water if required.
  • After 5 minutes, add butter and knead it for another 4-5 minutes.
  • Transfer this to a bowl and cover it. Leave it at a warm place for an hour or until it gets doubled.
  • After an hour or two when it is doubled, knead it again for 30 seconds. Pizza dough is ready. You can also add some mixed herbs like oregano and chilli flakes in the dough itself but it is optional.

Pizza base recipe at home

  • Once dough is ready, divide it into 5 balls. Take a ball of dough and spread it over the tin/tray/mould you are planning to bake this pizza. On that pan, spread the pizza dough well and keep the sides thicker than middle part. Take a fork and pin it all over the base so that it does not rise. I am making medium thin crust pizza.

  • Bake this pizza base for a couple of minutes in the pre heated oven at 200 degree C.
  • Or you can also cook this pizza base on a pan over a gas flame for about 3-4 minutes. You just need to roast this base before baking it in the oven.
  • *For making pizza without oven, you need not roast the base. You can directly cook it in the pan.
  • Your pizza base is ready. Prepare rest of the bases using same way.

  • 4 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 3 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Oregano and chilli flakes
  • as required Chopped onion and capsicum
  • as required cheese
Prepare the sauce
  • Once you are done with all the pizza bases, now its time to make sizzling pizzas.
  • In a small bowl take 4 tbsp of tomato ketchup, i have used home made ketchup, add into it 4 tbsp of home made mayonnaise and 3 tbsp of home made pizza sauce. Mix everything well and add 1 tsp of chilli flakes and 1 tsp or oregano.

Pizza recipe with oven
  • Take a base, apply the mixture stated above, over the pizza base as much you require. Grate some cheese over it.
  • Now chop some capsicum or bell pepper and onion in cubes. You can also add mushroom or paneer.
  • Top some grated cheese. If you do not have cheese, you can use white sauce (tastes equally great as cheese does).

  • In a pre heated oven, place the pizza for 15 minutes at 200 degree C.
  • If you find that pizza is not done in 15 minutes, allow it to bake for another 5-7 minutes.

Pizza recipe without oven
  • For making pizza without oven. Take a flat pan you can take any pan which has an even bottom and which can be covered with a lid. Grease the pan with some oil. (non stick pan is recommended). Spread the dough evenly all over the pan. Keep the sides thicker than the middle part.
  • Apply the mixture of sauce explained above. Grate some cheese over it. Now chop some capsicum or bell pepper and onion in cubes. Top this over cheese. You can also add mushroom or paneer.
  • Put this pan on low gas flame and cover it with a lid. Allow it to cook for 15-20 minutes. After 15 minutes check the base using a knife if it is cooked. If not cooked, let it cook for another 5-7 minutes.
