I am not only gonna share a veg burger recipe here, but also a recipe, which is 100% healthy. Yes, a healthy burger recipe that you can easily prepare at home.

Why healthy veg burger recipe ?

I will say why not a burger which is completely healthy? The burger recipe I am about to share contains absolutely no harmful ingredient. Although, the burger that you choose to eat is no way healthy. And here, I can share with you a burger recipe, without compromising with taste. And that’s a promise.

1. Use of burger bun made of refined flour or wheat flour bread with less than 50% of wheat four. Use of burger which is 100% whole wheat.
2. Use of mayonnaise made with refined oil, and lot of preservatives and harmful ingredients. Home-made mayonnaise with olive oil and all other healthy ingredients.
3. Use of tomato ketchup loaded with sugar. Home-made ketchup with same taste and zero harm.
4. No guarantee of the ingredients used in patty.Absolutely healthy and tasty patty at home. Freshly made.

I am NOT against any food brand. I have just listed the reasons which forced me too, for searching for an alternate like this healthy burger.

Veg burger recipe

Total Time 45 minutes
Servings 4 people


  • ½ cup Kidney beans
  • ½ cup soya bean
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
  • green chillies chopped
  • tbsp oats flour
  • 1 tsp blend of ground spices
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • rock salt to taste
  • mayonnaise (home-made)
  • tomato ketchup(home-made)
  • lettuce leaves, tomato and onion (for base)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Steps for making burger patty

  1. For patty, you need soaked kidney beans and soya beans. Once soaked properly, cook kidney beans in the pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles.
  2. Once cooked nicely, allow it to cool down.
  3. Then, in a mixer grinder or using a masher, mash the beans well.
  4. Grind soaked soya beans as well in the grinder.
  5. Now, in another bowl, take both. Add oats flour to it and mix well.
  6. In a pan now, heat some olive oil. Add ginger garlic paste, green chillies and sauté well.
  7. Now add, finely chopped onion till golden brown. Add coriander powder, blend of ground spices and rock salt at this stage.
  8. Once spices are cooked, it will release oil from sides.
  9. Add the soya bean and kidney mixture and cook for about 3-5 minutes.
  10. Turn off the flame and allow it to cool down.
  11. Once cooled down, divide it into 4 equal portions and make a patty.
  12. Once you are done with patty, for better taste toast it on a pan again to make crust crispier. Your healthy patty is ready.

Assembling burger

  1. Firstly, you need burger bun (home-made). Cut it half.
  2. Take spoonful of tomato ketchup (home-made) and mayonnaise(home-made). Apply ketchup on both sides of the burger bun. Apply mayonnaise the same way.
  3. Keep slices of tomato and onion over the base of sauces, followed by prepared burger patty.
  4. Place a lettuce leaf. { I have used cabbage leaves since I didn’t find lettuce due to lock down}.
  5. Place another half of the bun on the top.
  6. Insert a toothpick for the stability of burger.
  7. Prepare all three burgers using same method.
