white brown and multigrain bread

Have you ever wondered what actually these white brown and multigrain bread have in different. Well they are a lot different from each other. And these difference can cost you, your life.

This sounds too much right !? Unfortunately, It’s true.

I went through all the ingredients that these breads contain. This took a lot of time to summarize which of these white brown and multigrain bread is actually better. Stick to this article because I am going to disclose the reality of these “healthy breads”.

There was a major reason that I had to consider this issue. As I have seen people relying too much on breads. They also consider brown/multigrain bread as healthy and hence include it in their daily meals.

Well, when it comes to healthy, white bread is far from this category. And since, people think that brown bread is closure to being healthy, we’ll found out that too.

“Multigrain being the most healthiest for people”, statement might not be true.

So, let us see white brown and multigrain bread, which is better!?

White Bread

Major/basic ingredients of white bread

IngredientsEffects
Refined flour1. raises blood sugar and insulin, causing metabolic dysfunction.
2. zero nutrients
3. It is has various negative impact on body
Refined/vegetable/palm oil1. bulk of trans fat detrimental to heart health.
2. cause ulcers, gastroenteritis and even cysts
3. It is refined that is why it is detrimental to over all health. It has multiple effects you cannot even though of.
Milk solids1.  Oxidized cholesterol \which is hard to digest.
2. weight gain and high BP (in regular use)
3. Heart related issues
preservatives and chemicals (food additives)1. heart diseases like weakening heart tissues
2. breathing problems
3. cancer causing agents

Why not white bread ?

I think barely anyone would opt for white bread after reading the list of ingredients and their dramatic effects on our body in short, as well as long run. White bread, as I said earlier too, is far from healthy. It is the worst kind of bread available in the market.

Refined flour and refined sugar being its major ingredient, makes it more detrimental to our health. White bread if consumed regularly, then it may damage your digestive system. I strongly suggest not to consume this bread.

Brown bread

Major/basic ingredients of brown bread

IngredientsEffects and proportion
1. whole wheat flourless than 35% (most of the prominent brands)
2. refined flour1. Rest is refined flour.
2. raises blood sugar and insulin, causing metabolic dysfunction.
3. It has zero nutrients.
4. It is has various negative impact on body
3. palm/vegetable oil1. bulk of trans fat detrimental to heart health.
2. cause ulcers, gastroenteritis and even cysts
3. It is refined that is why it is detrimental to over all health. It has multiple effects you cannot even though of.
4.chemicals and preservatives (food additives)1. heart diseases like weakening heart tissues
2. breathing problems
3. cancer causing agents
5. emulsifiers, acidity regulators, INS and improvers1. Acidity regulators led to vomiting, nausea, diarrhea
2. emulsifiers damages the intestinal barrier
3. additives and improvers led to Digestive disorders and diarrhoea and colicky pains. Nervous disorders, insomnia and hyperactivity.

I think the biggest lie of commercial brands is considering brown bread as healthy. People as well, do not try to find out themselves what effects brown bread can contain. By brown bread what people understand is “whole wheat” but reality is “brown food color”. Since, there is no brown bread in the market which contains more than 35% of wheat flour and rest is maida or refined flour.

Reading the above points, it is clearly visible that brown bread is not at all healthy. Instead, preservatives, emulsifiers and other ingredients present in it, may adversely effect our bodies.

Thumbs down to brown bread.

Multigrain bread

Major/basic ingredients of brown bread

Ingredients Proportion/effects
1. multigrain flour50%
2. multiple grains like falx seed, barley, etcmaximun 2% each grain
3. Refined flour and refined oil is includedrest is refined flour
4. other ingredients such as preservatives, additives, chemicals, INS, acidity regulators, etc are too present in this bread.Adverse effect on health

Is multigrain bread good then?

Before directly jumping to know if multigrain bread healthy, I would like to break another myth.

Sometimes, commercial breads named as multigrain bread are made from whole wheat flour (instead of multigrain flour). Using whole wheat flour, they top multiple grains over the bread. Hence, multigrain does not always mean multigrain flour.

But, In comparison with brown bread multigrain breads are better. Yet, I am not in the strong favor or this as well. Since, this is better but not yet healthy.

Any completely healthy alternative?

The best option is available. Bake your own bread. This is the best option one could ever opt for. Making bread at home is the easiest and you require just a few ingredients. You can bake your own bread even if you do not have an microwave or oven.

Benefits of home-made bread

  4. zero chemicals
  5. no additives and added flavor
  6. no refined oil/vegetable oil
  7. free from refined flour
  8. no refined sugar
  9. no bad effects on body

Conclusion :

In the comparison of white, brown and multigrain bread, multigrain bread stand out to be better. Whereas, brown and white bread should completely be avoided. The best alternative I had is to make your own bread.

I would also like to clarify that I am not against any commercial brand. My whole motive is to make people aware of what they are eating. I also want to declare not all brands are worthless. There are some brands who provide really healthy bread which are harmless.

I strongly want to suggest all my readers to go through the ingredients of the product before purchasing it. Not merely breads, but any packed food’s ingredient should be read before buying it.
